Objective The student will learn how moisture comes out of the air.
Experiment The Water Cycle.
Procedure
Heat some water until it is near the boiling point. Place it in a drinking glass and rotate the glass so as to moisten the sides right to the top. Place some very cold water in a round flask, such as one made from an electric bulb or a Florence flask. See diagram at the bottom of the page.
Write your observation.
Water will evaporate from the hot water, condense on the cool surface of the flask and fall back in droplets into the glass.
Write your conclusion.
This experiment will demonstrate evaporation, condensation and precipitation. This is how the water cycle goes on in nature.
