The unit provides the teacher with the necessary historical background to teach the development of this Supreme Law, the Constitution. The material included covers the Articles of Confederation, pointing out the inadequacies of this document, the process of developing the successor document, and provides the teacher with suggested activities for teaching students about the various portions of the Constitution. The author has compiled materials which may be used in the classroom as aids to teaching the unit. This kit of materials includes: student copies of the Constitution; transparencies on the Powers of Congress, the Supreme Court and the Presidency; and copies of speeches relevant to the unit material.
