The purpose of this unit is to give the student some of the history of Connecticut land forms, rocks, minerals and to show how these were formed and how all this came about. It is intended to give students hands on experience with geological materials and to describe a unique cultural landscape which has played an important role in the development of Connecticut which still is an important visual element in maintaining Connecticut’s environmental character.
