Dispersion, which is designed to minimize losses in the event of deliberate or accidental threat, can be used. Duplication is designed to ensure that the system survives damage to any individual part. Duplication is also the fundamental method of detecting errors in processing. Defense in depth is designed to make the attacker overcome a series of barriers before he can damage any vital part of the system.
