. New York: Scholastic Press, 1991. An excellent, illustrated, highly readable biography of the explorer. Ideal for young students. Contains a bibliography for further reading.

, New York: Funk & Wagnalls Company, 1956. A collection of creation myths, containing the Honduran myth, “Sun-Papa,” as well as other Central and South American myths, including some Mayan stories from the Popol Vuh.

, New York: Avon Books, 1990. Beautifully illustrated, this book gives an insight into the thoughts of Columbus. Easy to read, yet quite complex

, New York: Harper Trophy, 1991 . A story of the voyage told from the point of view of a young cabin boy. Very interesting, lively, and yet very informative.

, New York: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1992. An absolutely beautiful book about the encounter from the point of view of a young Taino boy. Simple yet complex enough for students.
