This unit focuses on the creation mythology and the beliefs of the Aztec and Mayan peoples of Mesoamerica. The unit uses a variety of sources including a film of the Popol Vuh, the Mayan creation myth. Students read, discuss and write about the myths as well as write their own creation stories. Students will also research the daily life of the Aztec people.
