This unit is intended to address the science content area standards for Kindergarten students while teaching about responsibility and using a second language pedagogical approach. Using the Little Red Hen - short story - both science and social development topics are addressed through literature. In addition, science facts are taught while second language teaching enhances both linguistic and academic development. The topics covered include: 1) The Earth - Our Planet; The Sun; and Water Changes; 2) Living things - Plants and animals 3) Why do we need food? 4) Likes and dislikes; and 5) We have choices.
