The intent of this unit is to further the cause of teaching metrics. It discusses what metrics are, and how and why it came about. Arguments are presented for why it should be taught and disadvantages are mentioned. There is an outline of what could be the sequence for learning and expected mastery at different grade levels. Several specific lessons are presented and a bibliography for teachers and students is included at the end.
