Reader's Digest Adult. This is an excellent resource. Hann takes simple household ideas and designs hands-on experiments for children to explore science. Many topics are covered including light and sound, force, and motion.

Book Lab. This book has some great demonstrations and experiments on many topics, especially sound. It also gives simple background on each topic.
